What is “Eminent Domain”?
Eminent domain is the power of the government, and certain private entities like utility companies, to take private property for a public use. When the government exercises this power and takes property, the process is called “land condemnation.” If you are dealing with an eminent domain or land condemnation issue, give us a call. We would be happy to answer your questions and help you through the process.
I had such a positive experience with Steven Newton. He was very professional, yet easy to talk to. He took the time to answer all of my questions in detail. He made sure that I was well informed of the whole process and what to expect. I couldn’t have asked for a better attorney.
My wife and I are thankful we decided to hire Steven and John to represent us. They took the time to explain the process and options we had, and helped set us at ease during the uncertain process of dealing with local government attempting to use eminent domain. My wife and I were nervous and frustrated when we first got the notice, and after spending time with Steven and John, we had an action plan. John even came out to visit our property to get a better understanding of our situation and how they could best position our case with our town. I highly recommend working with them, as they are responsive, knowledgeable, and overall good guys.
Eminent Domain’ can be a scary prospect for land owners. Yet John led us through the entire negotiation with great success! From the quickly arranged but very thorough initial consultation, throughout the entire process, John was always present, professional, and personal in his advocacy for our interests. We enthusiastically recommend him!
Emmett is an experienced and devoted land lawyer who goes above and beyond what any client might expect. We were very impressed with the quality of her representation as well as how much she genuinely cared about us and the human side of the equation. Her interest in us as ordinary people was a most pleasant surprise.
